THE SHORT VERSION
How The Hoard treats authenticity. The short version: we help you identify and document a piece. We do not declare it authentic.

What a scan means
Gideon reads your piece and proposes a registry match. That match is a strong identification - not a guarantee of authenticity. You confirm before anything enters your Vault, and manual entry always works as a fallback.
What The Hoard does NOT verify
✕That an item is genuine
✕That an item's stated value is accurate
✕That a seller or trader is trustworthy
✕Anything not explicitly marked Brand-verified
What brands can verify
Eligible brands can confirm specific references on their own pages. Brand-verified is the only authenticity claim on the platform - and it comes from the brand, never from The Hoard.
Why we're careful
Overclaiming authenticity puts collectors at risk. We would rather give you an honest, documented record than a false guarantee.
